Like all world`s established designers, Croatian designer Ksenija Vrbanic has finalised her work for the 2009/2010 autumn/winter collection of the Xenia Design brand. Together with her team, she shot the campaign for her collection last week and pleased with the final outcome, she is prepared to present her collection at shows throughout the world. She gathered a team at the photo shoot at the National Archive in Zagreb, and they will soon celebrate a full decade of existence.

Photographer Marko Grubisic, make-up artist Simona Antonovic and model Jelena Golub are part of Ksenija`s team, which did a good job on the campaign, in the true XD spirit, and perfectly presented Ksenija`s work. The new collection, inspired by elegance and Oscar Wilde`s dandy style and Bohemian artistic spirit, perfectly matched the National Archive building.

The androgynous silhouette, chic and decadence best describe the collection, which serve everyday look. The queen black prevailed with several shades of grey. Dark, smudged tones with a touch of eclectic colours were present and the emphasis was placed on two shades: white and grey-brown in grey tones.

The material range of the 2009/2010 autumn/winter collection includes ultra fine thin wool and soft, airy thick mohair. Knitting was featured in several varieties from the finest fluffy structures to firm, compact, natural jerseys. We also have striped design for cotton fabrics and wool tapestry – a fabric style and washed out cotton twill. The zippers are present as details, while shiny plastic materials are especially interesting. Key pieces were shirts – a white shirt or stripy with details or scarves that are reminiscent of ties. Tight skirts and stretch trousers with rock details – zippers.

A Redingot coat in a modern-day variety, stuffed jackets and a raincoat are parts of the collection which are especially interesting, because they were made of plastic. We also have jackets with unusual collars than come off, giving a double impression. The collection is characterised by puffy sleeves on jackets and large mohair collars that play the role of heaters and are work on jackets for warmth.

The 2009/2010 autumn/winter collection is full of layered pieces which allow countless options of combining new outfits, which are wearable, both during the day and night. With this collection, the designer will tour the Duesseldorf, Copenhagen and New York shows and will win over her clients as well as attain new ones.
